“VerifyMe 3.0 is a solid step forward”

The Janshen-Hahnraths Group and Fairplay Casino have long made intensive use of the VerifyMe solution by CDDN. Björn Fuchs, Chief Digital Officer (CDO), views the recent updates to VerifyMe as a significant step forward: “VerifyMe 3.0 is a major improvement—not only from a user experience perspective but also for us as operators. The platform is intuitive, pleasant to work with, and contains a lot of relevant data.”

One of the key strengths Fuchs emphasizes is the usability of the updated back office:
“You have much better visibility into what happens during the registration process, allowing you to anticipate and adjust more effectively.” He appreciates the mobile-first approach of the new interface, where clarity and simplicity are prioritized.

Cost Savings Thanks to NATEGIS Plus

Fuchs is particularly positive about the integration of NATEGIS Plus, which has significantly reduced the need for the relatively expensive iDIN.
“Thanks to this addition, we rely less on iDIN, which saves us costs while also reducing dropouts during the registration process,” says Fuchs.

The improved ID scan in VerifyMe 3.0—developed in collaboration with CM.com—also receives positive feedback. Although Fuchs notes that there are always challenges with users photographing their ID documents, he acknowledges that the technology has made strong progress in this area.

Fuchs also emphasizes the partnership with CDDN as a true collaboration:
“What sets CDDN apart from a standard supplier is their willingness to actively think along with us and implement product improvements. We’ve suggested various small but essential UX upgrades, like the placement of navigation buttons, which they’ve effectively implemented.”

Political Shifts Present Opportunities

At a strategic level, Fuchs expresses confidence in market developments for legal online gambling providers, especially given recent developments in The Hague.
He cites the recognition of the illegal gambling market’s scale by the Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) as a significant game changer“Now that politicians acknowledge the size of the illegal market, the discussion is shifting from pure restriction to a more balanced regulatory approach. The goal should be to keep the legal market attractive enough to steer consumers away from illegal alternatives.”

Balanced Regulation Is Crucial

He sincerely hopes that further tax increases will be avoided and stresses the need for balanced regulation“Too much tax pressure and overly strict rules will have the opposite effect of what’s intended—they’ll fuel the illegal market. Gamblers aren’t protected there by regulation or duty of care.” Fuchs concludes: “We need a balance between enforcement, regulation, and maintaining the appeal of the legal offering. The tone of the recent parliamentary debate on gambling gives me hope.”
